Dear Students,

Re:Discontinuation of Refreshments to Classes and Alternative Arrangements

I am writing to let you know that we will discontinue the provision of refreshment to all of our UniSIM and SIM GE classes from July on wards.

Refreshment are nice to have. However, its provision has become increasingly challenging. Its impossible to satisfy the vast range of palate and dietary needs of our increasing student populating which stands 24,4000 now. Overall costs, including food costs, have increased and we reluctant to pass such increase to our students by increasing your fees.

Thus, after careful consideration, we find it best to stop the provision of refreshments. Instead, we have made other arrangements to give you greater flexibility and choice. the discontinuation will also allow us to focus our resources on what matters most to our students: the quality of our programmes, services and facilities. One such focus in the pipeline is the upgrading and extension of our campus at Clementi, more news of which will be announced in due course.

To meet your refreshment needs from July, we have negotiated with our vendors to set up conveniently located mobile food carts on our campuses to provide refreshments at reasonable prices, as well as to extend the canteen operating hours at both Clementi and Management House campuses till 8.30pm in the evening. Vending machines and water coolers are conveniently located around our campus and the adequacy of these will be reviewed from time to time.
